Slower. Hesitant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the reason is almost always the same:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They never actually learned the chords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They followed them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Hidden Problem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the way modern \u02bbukulele music is written\u2014especially my arrangements\u2014it\u2019s very easy to rely on the chord diagrams sitting right above the lyrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They\u2019re there. They\u2019re convenient. Someone calls a song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everybody starts playing\u2026 and you\u2019re reaching for your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019re scrolling. Searching. Trying to find the chords before the verse comes around again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the time you find it\u2026 the group has already moved on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if you do catch up, your eyes are locked on the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019re not listening.<br>You\u2019re not reacting.<br>You\u2019re not really part of the music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now compare that to someone who knows their chords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They hear the key\u2026 feel the progression\u2026 and jump right in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No hesitation. No scrambling.
